Wedding guest transport in Sussex
It is the part of the plan people leave until last, and then worry about most. Sussex has beautiful rural venues, but many are down country lanes with small car parks, no taxis waiting and no late buses. Sorting guest transport early takes a lot of stress off the day.
When you need it
THE CEREMONY TO THE RECEPTION If you marry in a church or register office and celebrate somewhere else, a minibus or coach keeps everyone together and on time for the drinks.
FROM HOTELS TO THE VENUE If guests are staying in Brighton, Worthing, Chichester or near Gatwick, a pick-up from the hotel saves parking problems at the venue.
THE END OF THE NIGHT The most useful run of all. A booked return means nobody has to drive, and nobody is left waiting for a taxi that does not come.
Minibus or coach?
A 16-seat minibus suits smaller groups and gets down narrow lanes and into small car parks where a full-size coach cannot go. For bigger numbers, two or three minibuses can be easier than one large coach, and they can run to different hotels at the same time. Ask your venue about access before you book a big vehicle.
Tips for booking
Give the operator the full plan: pick-up addresses, times, the venue, and when the evening ends. Build in time for photos running late. Tell guests the pick-up times on the invitation or your wedding website. Book a return trip that leaves after the last dance, not before it. Check the operator is properly licensed: in the UK a minibus carrying passengers for hire needs an operator's licence.
Wedding cars for the two of you
For the couple, a classic or vintage car, a VW camper or even a vintage bus makes a lovely entrance and great photos. Book these early for summer Saturdays.
